28 years ago today 241 Americans (220 Marines, 18 Sailors, and three civilians) were blown up at the Beirut International Airport while on a U.N. peacekeeping mission. In a separate bombing the same day, 58 French troops were killed. That act was left unpunished.
This was a needles slaughter. 28 years later Hezbollah, via Iran, is basically running Lebanon. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility.
When are we ever going to learn that all our blood spilled in that region is for nothing. They hate anyone not a Muslim…pure and simple, always have always will. All you have to do is read some history to know this is true.
With that said, this is a sad anniversary to have to remember. May those who lost their lives that day rest in peace, and know they are not forgotten.
